WE ARE NATURE

ARTIST STATEMENT

Humans and nearly every other creature on earth share the same fundamental cellular language. While our sensory experiences feel uniquely human, they’re actually built from the same biological building blocks that connect us to millions of other species. We’re all detecting light, sound, touch, and using similar abilities that were inherited from the same ancient family tree. Your senses aren’t just “human” experiences – they’re part of an interconnected web of life that has been sensing and responding to the world for countless generations.

The concept of humans being separate from other living beings is like a wave believing it’s separate from the ocean. We’re made from the same basic materials, shaped by the same forces, and connected in ways we’re only beginning to understand. When we truly grasp that We Are Nature, not separate from it, environmental destruction becomes self-destructive, other species become relatives instead of just resources, and your health becomes inseparable from the planet’s health.

Quantum physics reveals that the very notion of individual objects is itself an illusion. Scientists are finding that everything in the universe is connected from the smallest particles to plants, animals, and humans. We share DNA with other living beings, we breathe the same air, and we’re all made from the same basic materials. This suggests that our thoughts and awareness might not belong to us alone, that consciousness is something we participate in rather than something we simply possess. In essence, We Are Nature becoming conscious of itself.
