Fine Art Illustrator
At the heart of my illustration practice is observing the natural world and translating them into a concepts that brings inspiration and healing needed for our planet. Our natural world is essentially our interconnections to all the elements and species.
My current body of work, Journey to Rewilding, is a series of paintings of threatened species that explores the interconnectedness of all living beings and humanity’s place within the broader web of life. This series of paintings include a deck of cards and book under the title: “ Journey to Rewilding Oracle Cards”. This is an inspirational collection of fifty-six paintings of North American threatened species. The book and cards engage the viewer in some basic regenerative principles of “How Can I Help” inside and outside the home through a hybrid of conservation values and inspirational suggestions.
I primarily work in watercolors and colored pencil with a heavy leaning toward conservation illustration. My studio and home are located in the heart of Lancaster, Pennsylvania where the love of the arts is evident throughout downtown. I also continue to create paintings from shamanic journeys as a way of crystalizing important life-affirming concepts and to inspire a vibrant world.

SIgn up for unpcoming Journey to Rewilding Oracle Card Deck
Initiation through dreamtime
I was fourteen when I created my first piece of art that was inspired by a dream. I didn’t fully understand why animals were showing up in a particular way but I knew this unusual dream seemed important. Also during this time period, I was experiencing trickster spirits and other beings in my house that I didn’t understand. It seems that my spiritual allies were contacting me through dreamtime to let me know they were there to protect me. My instincts were to paint a mural of these animals above my bed as guardians without really understanding how that was going to work but believing it would help.
The art classes in highschool were a refuge for me. They helped to focus my energies and give me an outlet for all the unknowns that were happening in other realms at home. Those early years diverted my attention from thinking I would have a career as a nurse to the path as an artist. I continued my studies in illustration and printmaking at Philadelphia College of Art and a year at Tyler School of Art in Rome with a focus in etching and lithography.
It took many more decades until I would circle back around again to meet up with animal guides but this time it was through good teachers and developing a spiritual practice. I studied with a variety of teachers of shamanism, many were though The Foundation of Shamanic Studies and others who offered spiritual trainings that would enrich my own healing journey and practice.
The research and shamanic journeys I’ve undertaken for this project have deepened my appreciation for the variety of skills we each have as sentient beings. Some of us are more like the Little Brown Bat with special gifts to perceive where things are located and others may be more like the Northern Right Whale who can perceive communications from long distances. We are currently witnessing a significant shift in consciousness that is urging us to retrain our extrasensory abilities that have been dialed down for too many generations.
One of my greatest joys and challenges is illustrating the insights gained through shamanic journeys and appreciate the healing stories they reveal. With this deck of cards, I hope to enable others to uncover their own healing stories through the gifts of these remarkable beings.
Visionary Artist
I create paintings that represent the healing stories that I receive from compassionate helping spirits. These paintings can serve as visual reminders to support and inspire your personal evolution.
