May 17 • 11-6pm \nThe Field of Radiance is a curated exhibition bringing together six artists whose work celebrates the natural world and the quiet shimmer of inner light. \nSet within a historic Chester County barn gallery surrounded by gardens\, The Field of Radiance brings together six artists exploring light\, nature\, and spirit — with a live Rumi-inspired poetry and music performance on Sunday afternoon. \nThe exhibition takes place at The Green Barn Studios and Gallery\, housed in a 19th-century barn in East Fallowfield Township\, Chester County — a structure with history in its bones\, connected in local lore to the 1898 visit of Buffalo Bill Cody to nearby Coatesville. The barn now serves as a light-filled gallery and working studio space with wide chestnut floorboards\, oriental rugs\, high white walls\, and surrounding gardens — a place that invites visitors to slow down. \nHosted by artists Michael and Sally Green\, the exhibition includes work by Mia Bosna (mixed media painting)\, Ishaq Deis (mixed media and sculpture)\, Amira Dvorah (sacred music and oil painting)\, and Dana Hayne (fine-art nature photography). \nPainting\, photography\, mixed media\, wood sculpture\, and illuminated text come together as six artists in conversation with one another — and with the space itself. \nThe exhibition takes its name and spirit from the 13th-century Persian poet Rumi: \n“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing\, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” \nThat field — beyond argument and category\, where what is true simply is — is the shared territory of these six artists. Each has found their own way there: through the interior light of a flower\, the memory held in old wood\, the landscape seen with full attention\, the ancient geometry of Celtic illumination. \nOn Sunday afternoon\, May 17\, the exhibition comes alive with a Rumi-inspired poetry and music performance. Amira Dvorah performs on bansuri flute and acoustic guitar\, joined by Suzzette Ortiz on piano and harp. Michael Green\, co-creator of The Illuminated Rumi with poet and translator Coleman Barks\, reads from the work alongside poet and multi-media artist Dr. Kythe Heller of Harvard Divinity School. Admission includes this special reading. \nThe performance is free\, and light refreshments will be served. \nVisitors are invited to move through the exhibition at their own pace\, walk the gardens\, speak with the artists\, and encounter work that asks enduring questions about light\, presence\, and what we discover when we truly pay attention. \nOriginal works will be available for acquisition.
